Vote Yes for Levy

IS NOT A TAX INCREASE but a continuation of the rate that has been in place since 1933 and the taxes help fund basic city services listed below.

The South Charleston Public Service Levy will be on the Primary Election Ballot on May 14,2024. The Public Service Levy is voted on every 5 years and IS NOT a tax increase. It is a continuation of the rate that has been in place since 1933. The West Virginia Constitution requires that cities hold an election every 5 years to authorize the continuation of the levy rates in effect. The taxes collected from the levy help fund the basic city services, including Garbage Collection,Fire Service, Police Protection, South Charleston Library and Parks & Recreation.
