There are five distinct and exciting shopping areas within South Charleston. The Mound area, Riverwalk Mall, the Shops at Trace Fork, Southridge Center, and Spring Hill each offer a unique shopping experience.
1. THE MOUND
Located in downtown South Charleston, this area is quaint as well as convenient. Restaurants, banks, a post office, the library, and city offices accent the many specialty stores that can be found here. Specialty stores abound near the Mound and you can find everything from arts and crafts, discount retail stores, gift shops, and services. Businesses in the Mound area are all conveniently located within walking distance of one another.
2. RIVERWALK MALL
Located between the Mound area and Spring Hill. The mall includes restaurants, gift shops, men’s wear, video rentals, and beauty shops among other small retail establishments. A major grocery store and a value clothing store anchor the mall.
3. TRACE FORK
The Shops at Trace Fork are the latest addition to the South Charleston shopping scene. Offering over 500,000 square feet of shopping, Trace Fork includes a hotel, large well-known anchor stores, smaller speciality stores, and many restaurants to choose from.
4. SOUTHRIDGE CENTER
Southridge Center is located on Corridor G (U.S. 119). Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club are in operation here as well as numerous other businesses. Dine at one of many restaurants, catch a movie at Marquee Cinemas, then shop for furniture, office supplies, or for many other items at one of the specialty stores located at Southridge Center.
5. SPRING HILL
Diverse specialty shops and businesses are plentiful in this beautiful area of South Charleston. Thousands of people attend the annual Octoberfest celebration that is held here every Fall.
